Country Living

Living in the country is an amazing life. Waking up to the feeling and site of nature..Views of grass and gardens out the window. Walk outside and you can see the trees for miles. The sun shining through the trees. The birds singing and chirping all around. Nature is at it's best.

It has been a long time since I've heard a rooster crow, and one always crow now every morning before the sun comes up. From a long drawn night of sleep, it's a sound that morning has arrived. I stretch to the welcomed morning sound and it welcomes me.

Gathering eggs brings back the most memories. Every morning, fresh eggs are gathered and basketed from the pen. It's a delight for the kids to find one. It's almost like easter hunting for them and the smile on their faces when they do. It's as if it never gets old or redundant to them. The precise moment is just like the first to them and that's a heart felt sight for me.

Milking the cow. It was one of the most frightening things to have to do, the first time I did it. Thinking back on television how the cow would kick back the milker.

Country living is the closest thing to heaven. It's God's creation all around and you soak it all in, visually. The smell of fresh air is breath giving. I set and try to guess what I'm smelling. The honey from the honey suckle is the most familiar.
